Correct.

I am, because I conducted an analysis of my driving and riding and undertook further advanced tuition. I realised that there is absolutely no excuse for breaking the speed limit (except where emergency situations dictate) other than my own selfishness.

1. *I* want to get from A to B quickly so *I* will drive faster than allowed.
2. *I* can't see any reason for the speed limit so it's ok for *me* to break the speed limit.

When I realised this and applied the same logic that I apply to my professions (where strict discipline and standards rule) I immediately started to begin driving more calmly and found it IMPROVED my hazard perception while on the road. I also began to notice more and more drivers (of which I was once in the same group) who blatantly don't have any sort of standards. It's not a majority, but it's far from a minority.

It's really called waking up to C O A S T  COAST drivers rarely speed and if they do .. they would do only where safe (track and absolutely empty road .. or on a deresticted A/bahn

My attitudes have completely changed on this. I used to be very pro-SS, but then I was simply quoting Paul (SS was an effective propaganda machine for me just as much as DfT is for everyone else) which weren't really my own beliefs.

COAST means making up your own mind and being responsible for yourself.

No one suggests no speed limit. One argues that a speed camera cannot make a road or a driver/rider/cyclist/horse rider/pedestrian safe as all it can do is measure a speed and take no account of the traffic condition .. nor help the bloke who speed to get a loved one to hospital in an emergency.,

I strongly believe that a lot of people on here are not at all interested in the safety side, but are joining the bandwagon because they are lashing out at being inconvenienced by not being able to travel as fast as they please.

So you accept the anger and let them unleash it. Better to let it off here than on the road. At least we cam smoochy the COAST code to them and IG will try to do the PR jobby  And hope the message of ultimate COAST safety led approaches permeates through the rocky shield they appear to have. COAST does help.. being aware of it does help and it helps reign in that speed from OTT to safe speed.

If you want to reduce all casualties to near zero, hard limit all vehicles to 10 mph on every road. If you're really pro-saving lives, you'll have no problem with that.

Martin and Jec  .. I ride a bicycle up over Honister Pass and Hardknott alike faster than that..

I will be visiting Willi at Cltiheroe on Wednesday as we want to see Boonen et al hoon it on bicycles to show us how cycling should be done  They will be a lot above 10 mph on a bike..

Ummmmm.... Speed MATTERS!

Heck Eddy Brain rides his bike faster than 10 mph .. he got done for trying not to inconvenience the traffic too much and trying desperately not to get pranged by a silly overtaker at the time.. hence his primary stance...

In fact .. I can run faster

Should I then have my legs limited

Don't be so daft - though I guess you are being sarcy ... and remember your reply to me over Claire Wightman over the "Give Your Boss a Brake" 31 mph..   seh said   in a 30 mph kills and I took you reply to mean you did not agree at the time

Look .. idiots everwhere and some post on here... mostly ephemeral come day /go day types.
