The full page article in the new edition talks about inappropriate placement of sat nav equipment, particularly when mounted to the driver's right, next to the A-pillar:
Road safety campaigner Paul Smith of Safe Speed (www.safespeed.org.uk) shares Bike's concerns. 'Satellite navigation itself is not automatically a problem. Not the best bit of journalism they've done, TBH. Some hints to riders to help them spot these potential SMIDSYs would have been helpful. It's all very well saying "THIS IS DANGEROUS!!". They should be giving real-world riders advice to help them deal with it. They obviously feel it's within their remit as they have a 'Riding Clinic' segment every month.[/i]
