You have to hand it to the Vine prog
On each show .. we have a plug for this "vote".
So far.. we appear to have.. ..
Oh dear.. them cyclists will scream.. "blasphemy .. infamy .. they all got it in for me! and Woe! Woe and
thrice WOE "
As cyclists are named more than once in the "jingle"
But fear not our lycra clad louts, pavement pretzels, muesli munching muppets and the truly committed Franklin fanatic and the COAST commuters
only .. er .. teasing
far ahead of you still are
1. caravans (:lol:
that episode of TG comes to mind . Truly the guys at their best.. apart from the "Fly Drive 'holiday'"
2. horse boxes. (Now .. how often do you come across these - Appleby Show apart..

- and whilst this is a policing nightmare and last year .. Cumbria and Durham were both called to shock incidents .. generally a very pleasant and entertaining spectacle. )
3. anyone wearing a hat (oi..

Leave my lid alone! Keeps my hair in style and dead flies splatting against my head

)
4. Lorries. (er.. and how exactly does Tesco get the goods so that you shop and they drop?

)#
5. 4x4. Hmmmm. Depends on make and where used and who drives it.
6. Tractors. :confused: But you wanna eat things? How else to we till the fields?
7. Taxis.. Now steady on! I use a taxi when I've been out and about. I likes me claret

but I never drive after even ONE drinky. I have never had a problem with any taxi driver so far.. but then I think they do know what I do for a living

(I've been in the papers on occasion here

complete with a photo

)
8. BMW drivers. (Actually .. quite a lot know what they are doing... and NO.. I do not have one. Some of the Swiss riff-raff do.. but they "understand the car" .. and I drive a nice solid family VOLVO!

)
9. Chavs in souped up Corsas and Micras. Well... they have the bling .. but we have the ping
Joint 9
9. The elderly.

Look .. most are still OK and 5% should accept their age has go the "better of them"
So around 75% have becone "Sunday Drivers".. enjoying the scenery at a slowish plod. So what? SO long as they are safe.. being COAST in behaviour .. should not be an issue for a younger COAST driver, rider, cyclist
10. Motorbikes.

OK.. some riders can be/are a nightmare. But we are talking of perhaps a rogue 5% which include "middle aged farty trying to regain and re-visit his "yoof"

and young blood on a suicide mission which has to involve the rituial of doubling the ton on our Teesdale "run". Be warned.. we have some well trained cops who can handle their speed .. and Co Durham is watching you watching yourselves behave like tw:censored:ts out there .. and have the stealth and skill to pounce and trounce you!
But the rest .. the norm.. we have no real issues.
But all the same .. Vine has it wrong of course. It's not the car.. but the DRIVER or RIDER or CYCLIST in charge of those wheels.
It should not be about voting anyone;s choice of transport off the road.. but how best we can educate to achieve pride in driving/biking/cycling and develop those COAST skills to the nearest we can to our personal "bests" as a constant.
