Just spotted this on bbc news, cant see it already posted on here.

Quote:
Speed camera 'misuse' is probed

Kent Police said the 120 cases had been dropped as a precaution
More than 100 speeding cases have been dropped and a police officer suspended after a probe was launched into alleged misuse of a mobile speed camera.

Kent Police said the member of staff had been had been suspended on a "procedural matter".

The force said the inquiry would look at how a piece of equipment was used on a single occasion and that 120 cases had been dropped as a precaution.

It said the camera was not altered to record a higher speed.

A spokeswoman said: "We've suspended a member of police staff on a procedural matter pending an internal investigation.

"This is standard practice while an inquiry is conducted. It is a procedural issue that relates to the use of equipment."

Kent Police said it would continue to enforce speed restrictions while the inquiry was carried out.

IIRC this case was raised last year and it was suggested it WAS the LTI 20.20 then.

So, falsified readings? Was he/she paid to go out to check cameras and certify them, but never bothered? Or is there something else like fakingt signatures on forms, etc? Interesting to find out.
