... Today, in the same post, I received 3 speeding fines for doing 56, 53 and 52 in a 40 mph limit at the same spot. The road is mostly 70 mph but ..... Will these get processed as 3 separate incidents e.g. will I be receiving 9 points at least, possibly more (a ban ?). Is there anything I can do ?
There are a number of points that you can choose to check to ensure that all aspects of the road and the speed limits fully legally comply with all the regulations.
You can employ experts and a solicitor to help show these points (if errors have been found) to the Court. You can still plead not guilty up the the morning prior to the Court Case.
As they are different days then they are very likely to be treated as three different cases and so 3 points/case.
If your case went to Court and the local Camera Partnership offers a speed awareness course you might plead guilty to two and perhaps have a course for another, and then only have 6 points and a fine, plus speed course and any Court costs - but that will take into your circumstances into consideration.
I am not a lawyer and cannot legally advise you - we strongly suggest that you obtain proper legal advice.
See (as already suggested
Pepipoo) or any good solicitor.
I am aware that if you are stopped e.g. and you have 3 bold tyres they can only charge you for a single offence. (But that may go to Court etc ...)
Remember this is a camera that automatically fines for infringements of legality not whether you were otherwise safe or not at the time.
We do not condone 'speeding'. We do understand that the setting of speed limits and driving safely is a big and involved subject that cannot be reduced to a single factor. We also appreciate that driving safely cannot be measured in miles per hour alone.
