Yet another whitewash, going on about how speed kills etc etc.
Switch on and be prepared to fume.
I’ve been hearing so much about how “Speed Kills” it’s set me wondering.
There was I thinking that “movement”, or to put it another way, “getting from (a) to (b)”, was an innocent, beneficial, every-day activity which was essential for human beings to function. But now that activity has been re-named “speed”, it seems I was wrong all along - it’s a nasty, anti-social and potentially dangerous habit, and it’s got so bad that they’ve had to install hundreds of cameras to catch us “at it”.
And what’s more, following the same reasoning, I’ve realised that there’s more so-called ’normal’ activities that need watching.
Just think of all the fatalities every year caused by fires. And what causes fires? Heat! Yes! You thought your mum or your wife cooking your chips or burgers at tea-time was doing you a favour. Not a bit of it! She is in fact irresponsibly exposing herself and the rest of the family to a potentially lethal force. And the more heat she applies to the burgers, the worse it is! I think it’s time we cut back on our fire services and instead get heat detector vans out on the streets to target and fine the worst offenders. Then we can look forward to “Heat Kills” campaigns and programmes like “Police! Action! Cooking!” to put the fear of god into us.
Reading over the above, I’m now a bit worried - it might give the Brunstroms of this world ideas!
