Basically, we want less of this speeding malarkey in our towns, villages and bendy A-roads.
So is that it then? Just slow down and everything will be OK? What about this then? <PHOTO OF POTENTIAL SPEEDER BEHIND> Is it OK to drive past the speed cameras tailgating the car in front in a 4x4 at 35+ while on the phone?

I would of course been able to drive a little faster and leave the 4x4 behind - but that would have put me over the limit! Which one of us would present the greater danger?[ /quote]
That scum bag, tailgating yobbo was worse, who would have been speeding too had you not managed to hold the stinking pig back.
Suspect Ern's tailgater - was too engrossed in the conversation to realise.
Unfortunately - people get away with the mobile phone abuse in some areas because they know they can - basically

They try it here .. people told us about it.. We get less telling us about it now.. cos w went out and pulled more

Well done, EM! My Mojo is “Never Speed Up” – that is exactly what these ugly road slobs want you to do. They just can’t stand to see someone driving calmly and relaxed. I give them 5 mph penalty automatically, and then another one too to teach them a lesson.
Basingmate.. sigh..
We have been through this one before...
You do NOT teach lessons to others on the road .. tis another form of "road rage"
By all means - ease off and create a space for village idiot to move into ... assist his overtake as better to have him in front where you can keep your distance than have him being a pest behind.

Government approval (in the form of licencing of product) was given to THALIDOMIDE, and it is STILL used, but failure to recognise the problem left hundreds subjected to terrible defects.
I don’t know much about that. Thalidomide has chirality, which might affect the way it works. In any case, thalidomide is a good treatment for leprosy. You can give it to ¾ of the population (young girls, blokes and older ladies) because they don’t get pregnant!
But at the time - this was hailed as a wonder drug as it cured persistent nausea in pregnancy. As I understand from al the press stuff - and many of these victims - my age group.
My own mother was prescribed this drug .. luckily she did not even get to the chemist as her grandfather suffered a stroke and she just forgot about it... She was persistently sick - especially when expecting my sister....
Apparently - she threw up even after sucking a siucky sweet! Yet - bless her - carried us all to term stoically - and despite her sickenss - apparently her body absorbed the goodness in the food before she was sick - we were all
She says her doctor at the time was reluctant to prescribe as "the drug was new and he did not know enough about it - only the reports per the journals"
Asked Wildy about it .... she says that in the past - licencing was a less stringent than now.
But in any case - the analogy does seem to serve as a warning that we cannot make rash judgements based on short tests and a few stats....and build a whole far ranging policy around this.
