Anybody know what the new cameras are for, situated all the way along the new A249 dual carriageway and over the new Sheppey bridge between the M2 and Sheerness.
They look like SPECS cameras, only they're painted dark blue and not as high mounted, and they're focused on white spraypainted dots, one in the middle of each lane and in both directions.
No new warning signs have been erected to indicate speed detection and the road carries a 70mph speed limit.
Any thoughts?
Dark blue?
Doesn't that make them Trafficmaster, the jam-warning service?
I recall someone saying that Trafficmaster works by using ANPR, to measure the speeds of vehicles over various sections of road - but I have no idea if this is authoritative or true.
